Tortuguero National Park, Costa Rica's "little Amazon", is located on the Caribbean coast. This remote area is accessible only by plane or by boat.Wildlife-rich Tortuguero will allow you the chance to see a large diversity of bird species, monkeys, sloths, crocodiles, and iguanas as you tour the navigable rainforest canals by boat. The tropical beaches around Tortuguero are key nesting sites for green sea turtles during July to September.

In north central Costa Rica, near the town of La Fortuna, Arenal volcano rises majestically above the lowland plains surrounding it. Beneath the volcano's steaming peak, the area offers natural beauty, amazing wildlife, and plenty of outdoor activities for visitors including canyoning, horseback riding, rafting, mountain biking, 'zip line' tours, canopy bridge walks and a gondola tramway above the forest. At day's end, one can relax in an area resort that offers soothing thermal waters heated by the volcano. There is abundant wildlife in the area; some of the animals that may be seen are spider, howler and white-faced monkeys, coatis, agoutis, and peccaries, and many bird species like keel-bill toucans, chesnut-mandible toucans, motmots, jacamars, tanagers, honey creepers, hummingbirds.

The Monteverde Cloud Forest in the Tilaran Mountains of northwest Costa Rica is one of the world's premiere destinations for naturalists. A cloud forest is an especially beautiful and rare type of rain forest created by frequent mists from low-lying clouds. This cool and moist environment is characterized by massive trees covered by thick "carpets" of small plants. Much of the resident wildlife is unique to these habitats. In Monteverde you may find a wide range of accommodations, from small cozy and family run hotels to larger accommodation offerings. The experience of Monteverde is still that of a small village feel in the high mountains covered with exuberant cloud forests.
